Indigenous Inclusion Policy

SVS Wolf Creek is dedicated to embracing Indigenous people, communities and groups across Canada to work collaboratively with us through the services we provide our clients.

We are committed to building long-lasting relationships, contributing positively to reconciliation, and to supporting economic development within the communities where we work.

SVS Wolf Creek follows four principles which guide our commitment to reconciliation:

Leadership & Culture

SVS Wolf Creek has built a culture of Indigenous Inclusion to ensure that engagement with communities becomes “business as usual”. We will allocate the necessary resources to maintain organizational structures, processes, and education in pursuit of Indigenous inclusion. Leadership at SVS Wolf Creek will lead by example in demonstrating the importance of the 4 principles outlined in this policy.

Employment & Opportunity

We are committed to fostering a diverse workforce where equal opportunity is the standard and where no individual is prevented from being successful based on attributes and unrelated to job performance.

SVS Wolf Creek declares a commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace that strategically and respectfully embraces Indigenous perspectives, talent, and experience. We will strengthen our partnerships with Indigenous community employment centres to understand unique barriers to employment, promote career opportunities within SVS Wolf Creek and act together to increase Indigenous representation throughout our workforce.

SVS Wolf Creek proudly supports the pursuit of higher education. We will continue to provide support, both financial and in-kind, for educational and cultural initiatives unique to each community of interest and to our employees. This initiative demonstrates our commitment to the public as a progressive and socially responsible business.

Business Development

SVS Wolf Creek has implemented growth strategies which include expanding our scope of work to include not only Western Canada but into the United States. SVS Wolf Creek will continue to include local and Indigenous talents and services in our work projects, and we are committed to improving equal access to long-term employment opportunities for Indigenous people and businesses in proximity to our operations. We are dedicated to researching community aspirations, resources, areas of economic growth, and procurement opportunities to better understand where opportunities may exist to create shared value between Indigenous communities and SVS Wolf Creek.

Community Relationships

It is the desire of SVS Wolf Creek to support our customers by building sustainable relationships with the Indigenous communities whom they work with. Sustainable relationships are honest and respectful in their approach, while realizing shared benefit through community opportunity. We will listen to communities, seek to understand what is important and respond accordingly. We understand that relationship-building with Indigenous communities is a journey that we are invited to be part of and one that will be approached with humility.
